CISD Students Selected to Attend Seminar - March 10, 2010

Four students from Center High School, Kayla Harless, Mallory Thomas, KeKe Moore, and Kelia Diaz were selected to attend the Etiquette + Protocol = Success seminar hosted by the Deep East Texas College Tech Prep and the School of Human Sciences at Stephen F. Austin State University on March 8, 2010. The students attended sessions related to career and work success as well as appropriate etiquette and protocol. A dining tutorial luncheon provided the students and Ashley Hayes and Nicolle Davis, Center High School Career and Technical teachers, an opportunity to practice dining skills. Students were provided an opportunity to interact with SFASU students and faculty. All were presented certificates for attendance at completion of the seminar.

Center Kicks off FFA Week in San Antonio - February 23, 2010

This week is National FFA week and Center FFA is starting off the week in a great way! Over the weekend the kids competed in the San Antonio Livestock show and Rodeo Ag Mechanics Show. There were 187 schools, with 387 projects and over 800 kids competing.

Seth Brittain and Coty Allen - Blue ribbon Shop Tables
Dale Scates, Jesse Campbell and Brandon Holt - Red Ribbon Shop Tables
Eric Fairchild and Nic Fitzgerald - Red Ribbon 14' Trailers

Seth and Coty also placed 5th in Class 5 Shop Equipment.

This year the showmanship competition was a bit different instead of it being by school - kids were judged individually. Seth and Coty placed 4th in the large schools division. They received a welder, cutting torch and hood and other welding accessories.
