Center Middle School Cheerleaders Excel at Camp - July 21, 2010
Submitted by Jake Henson

The CMS cheerleaders recently returned from cheer camp at Great Wulf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas. They competed with 37 squads of which 10 were Middle School/Freshmen teams. The team did an excellent job and was awarded 7 Superior ribbons, 1 excellent ribbon and a daily spirit stick award. They were also one of only 3 teams to be awarded the ultimate spirit award... "THE BANANA".

In final evaluations CMS was awarded the 2010 Superior Camp Improvement trophy and 1st place in the 2010 Camp Champs cheer category. Winning first place, qualified the CMS cheerleaders to perform pre-game events for the Capital One Bowl game in Orlando, Florida for New Years 2011.

Along with the team awards, we had some individual awards during camp. Dillon Reynolds was given the "pass it on" pin, Julie Garcia made it to the final round for the jump off competition and Montana Woodard made UCA All American Cheerleader and will be eligible to participate in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade in Houston, Texas.

We are very proud of the entire team and their accomplishments at camp. These girls along with their sponsor, Lee Ann McGraw, put in countless hours training and preparing for this and other events. Their succes is a credit to their hard work and dedication.
