Constitution
Day at S.W. Carter Elementary - September
17, 2009
Submitted by Evelyn Foster
On September 17, 1787, the United
States Constitution was signed by
brave men who changed the course of
history. Constitution Day was created
in 2004 as a time for us to continue
their legacy and develop habits of
citizenship in a new generation of
Americans.

On September 17, 2009, the fifth
grade students at S. W. Carter Elementary
School drank lemonade and ate apple
pie as they studied the constitution.
Perhaps these two items were enjoyed
by our Founding Fathers as they wrote
this important document.
