Submitted by Van Patterson
Panola College Communication students
broadcast Wednesday night's basketball
games live over the internet on the
new Pony Express web channel.
The Fillies "Pink Zone"
game, including the presentation of
graduating sophomores, led off the
broadcast, followed by the Ponies
game.
"We set up a Livestream channel
a few weeks ago, but this was our
first experiment in live broadcast,"
said Teresa Beasley, Communication
instructor and advisor for the Pony
Express Online.
Lynn Kincheloe, a broadcast communication
student, created the logo for the
online channel and was the play-by-play
announcer for the broadcast. Running
the camera for the broadcast were
Kincheloe, Erik Lundquist, Jeremy
Vos and Call Callens.
While they handled the broadcast
portion of coverage, Brody Wedgeworth
covered the game from the scorer's
table, and Rodger McLane shot still
photos of the action.
The two games are available "on
demand" at www.livestream.com/ponyexpress.
"The Livestream Channel offers
us a great opportunity to bring the
events and activities of Panola College
