Fight Team Members Upcoming
Events - July
3, 2008
Submitted by Richard
Roddy
Self Defense America
is proud to announce that
two of its MMA fight team
members are fighting in
the month of July.
Chris is a 5'11"
205 lb fighter who is
very skilled in all phases
of the game; he has very
quick hands
and is very good at submissions
from all positions. He
is currently training
for his upcoming fight.
Chris is an awesome fighter,
because it doesn't matter
what happens in the fight.
He can beat you down with
his striking, on the ground
he is very patient and
gives his opponent no
room to breath, He presses
the whole time until he
gets his submission. He
also has incredible take
down power. He can slam
a man so hard that a Tap
Out imminent. That is
why we call him "Triple
Threat". Chris is
a true Warrior
He will be fighting July
18th at The HorseShoe
Casino in Shreveport La.
He is scheduled to be
the Main Event.
Chuck
Sowell is a 5"9 185lb
fighter who is making
his MMA debut on July
12th in Monroe La. He
has come along way in
all phases of MMA. He
is a very hard worker
in practice, but he also
brings comic relief to
our practice, you just
never know what is going
to come out of his mouth.
But any opponent that
takes his levity as weakness
will be in for a long
night in the ring.. It
doesn't matter if it is
stand up or clinch or
on the ground. Chuck is
looking forward to stepping
into the ring and testing
his skills.

over $5,000.00 for the

Fund, which awards scholarships
in the amount of $1,000.00
to graduating seniors
from our area high schools.
Over the past 15 years

been raised for Shelby
County students. This
year's event began around

following a Bar-B-Q lunch
